From Order to Drop-Off: What Happens When You Book a Delivery with Ruck

If you’re new to Ruck or just wondering what happens after you place an order, here’s a quick look behind the scenes. Our process is designed to be simple, fast, and reliable—whether you're a contractor on a tight schedule or a vendor trying to get materials to your customer.

Step 0: Need a Quote First? We’ve Got You.

Before anything gets booked, we’re happy to give you a quick quote. Just send us the pickup location, drop-off address, and a rough idea of the materials. We’ll give you clear pricing up front so you know what to expect.

Step 1: You Give Us the Order Details

It starts with a quick call, text, or online order. You tell us what needs to be picked up, where it’s coming from, and when it needs to be delivered. That’s it.

Step 2: We Enter It Into the Ruck System

Once we get your order, our team inputs it into our system and flags all the key info: pickup location, delivery deadline, load size, and any special instructions.

Step 3: We Match It With the Right Drivers

From there, our system narrows it down to drivers in your area who have the right capacity (whether that means a truck, trailer, or both). We only show the job to drivers who can handle your specific order.

Step 4: A Driver Claims the Job

Once the job is dispatched, one of our trusted drivers claims it. We don’t just send it to anyone—we wait until the right driver picks it up based on time, vehicle type, and availability.

Step 5: They Get the Pickup Details First

The driver gets everything they need to pick up the materials: supplier name, address, load type, and any important notes. This helps avoid confusion and delays at the yard.

Step 6: Pickup Happens

The driver heads to the supplier. Most vendors load the materials onto the trailer or truck, but drivers are trained to double-check everything to make sure the load is secure and accurate.

Step 7: Drop-Off Instructions Are Sent

Once the load is confirmed and secured, the driver receives the drop-off address and instructions. We wait until after pickup to send these details so everything stays organized and on schedule.

Step 8: Materials Arrive at the Jobsite

Your materials are delivered safely to the drop-off location—typically curbside or in the garage, depending on what you requested. Once dropped off, you’ll get a confirmation and proof of delivery.

Final Thoughts

That’s it. From order to drop-off, Ruck keeps the process clean, fast, and predictable—so you can stay focused on getting the job done.
