Ever wonder what it's like to be part of the engine that keeps construction projects moving? At Ruck, our drivers aren't just "delivery people"—they're the real MVPs keeping job sites stocked and projects running on time. It's a simple formula: drive, deliver, and make someone's day easier.
Since we’re a same-day delivery service, no two days are exactly the same. Some mornings, you might check your phone early and there’s nothing—then by 10 AM, four deliveries pop up and you’re off to the races. Other days, we might assign you deliveries the night before so you can plan ahead. Flexibility is key around here.
Once a job comes through, you'll get all the important info: where you're picking up, what materials you're hauling, and when it needs to be dropped off. Then you’re off to the supplier. Most drivers use a truck and trailer combo (that way you can haul bigger loads), but if you’ve just got a pickup, no worries—there’s plenty of work for you too.
Pickups are usually a breeze. You roll up to the vendor, they load your trailer or truck for you (most of the time), and you double-check that everything's good to go. Sometimes you’ll be picking up one order, sometimes you’ll grab a few deliveries from the same supplier and knock them all out in one run. It keeps things moving—and keeps your payout growing.
Once you hit the jobsite, unloading varies. Sometimes the crew’s waiting and they'll unload you. Other times, you’ll be the one hauling it off—and when you unload, you earn more. Whether it's drywall, flooring, lumber, or roofing, you're a key piece of the puzzle for crews trying to hit their deadlines.
After that? It's up to you. You can grab another delivery, or you can call it a day if you’re good. You’re in the driver’s seat (literally).
At Ruck, you're not just driving a truck—you're helping build homes, businesses, and communities. If you're ready to roll with construction's fastest delivery crew, learn more about becoming a Ruck driver here!
